At the invitation of the Institute of Plant Nutrition, Resources and the Environment of the Beijing Academy of Agriculture and Forestry Sciences, the Russian delegation consisting of the head of the From October 15 to 22, Chebotar V.K., PhD, and Gancheva M.S., PhD, Researcher at the Laboratory of Microbial Preparations, visited China to participate in the 1st International Symposium on Soil Improvement and Innovations in the Field of Green Fertilizer Technologies, held on October 16-19, 2025 in Beijing.. The International Symposium was attended by leading scientists in the field of plant nutrition, agrochemistry and soil science from Australia, the USA, Spain, Russia, Canada, and China. In total, more than 60 people from various universities and research institutes of China took part in the symposium. From Russia, Chebotar V.K. made a presentation on "Development of microbiological preparations based on endophytic bacteria to protect plants from biotic and abiotic stresses". On October 19, the Institute of Plant Nutrition, Resources and the Environment also hosted a Russian-Chinese seminar on Agricultural Microbiology, where M.S.Gancheva made a presentation on "Plant Peptide Hormones in PGPB: Genomic Identification and Role in Plant-Microbe Interactions". In their speeches, the Chinese partners talked about their research and proposed to prepare a Memorandum on the establishment of a Joint Laboratory of soil Microorganisms. They also got acquainted with the laboratories of the institute and the vegetation base for conducting experiments. As part of the creation of a Joint Laboratory, the Chinese side expressed interest in the following research areas:
- Study and use of microbial resources
- Soil microbiome and soil health
- Creation of functional microbial products
- Ecological microbiology and sustainable agriculture
- Microbial Informatics
It is planned to submit applications for projects, regular exchanges, staff training, and staff exchange. In order to enhance cooperation, Chebotar V.K. and M.S.Gancheva were specially appointed advisers to the Scientific Committee of the Institute.
