The staff of laboratory No. 8 wrote articles in the journal Plants

The staff of the Federal State Budgetary Scientific Institution ARRIAM in collaboration with the staff of St. Petersburg State University, the Federal State Budgetary Scientific Institution Agrophysical Institute and the staff of the Institute of Biology of Leiden (the Netherlands) published in the journal plants about the endophytic bacterium B. safensis except TS3
Analysis of the genome of the B. safensis strain revealed, in addition to TS3, the presence of genes responsible for the synthesis of proline, 2 different glycine-betaine transport systems, as well as antioxidant enzymes such as superoxide dismutase, catalase, and glutathione reductase. The ability of the bacterium to produce phytohormones – indolyl 3 acetic acid (IAA), trans-zeatin, and abscisic acid was revealed.
The studied properties allow us to propose the use of the endophytic bacterium B. safensis as a biological product other than TS3, both in saline soils and under normal conditions. The results of the study are presented in the frame of grant No. 22-26-00271.
