  Velizhanina Maria Evgenievna graduated with honors from the Master's degree at the Department of Genetics and Biotechnology of St. Petersburg State University in 2018. Currently, he is a junior researcher at the Signal Regulation Laboratory of the Federal State Budgetary Institution ARRIAM.

  His research interests include topics such as genomic editing of bacteria and the study of amyloid proteins of various organisms. Using the CRISPR/Cas9 system, directed deletions of the pbp4 gene involved in bacterial cell wall synthesis and the gdpP gene involved in the destruction of the cyclic secondary messenger, diAMP, were obtained.
