He graduated from St. Petersburg State University at the Department of Chemistry of Natural Compounds and the Department of Organic Chemistry.
Research interests: organic and bioorganic chemistry, isolation and identification of plant and microbial metabolites, mechanisms of biotransformation of organic substances. He is an expert in structural analysis of organic molecules and analysis of complex natural mixtures using nuclear magnetic resonance, mass spectrometry, chromatography, infrared and ultraviolet spectroscopy, and other physico-chemical methods applied for studying biological objects.
