Biopreparation "Rhizotorfin" increases the yield of vegetable peas and slows down the overripening of grain

The journal “Vegetables of Russia” published an article by O.V. Putina and co-authors, presenting the results of a three-year field experiment on the use of the biological preparation “Rhizotorfin” on vegetable peas. The experiment was carried out at Krymsk Experiment Breeding Station – a branch of VIR (Krasnodar Region, Krymsk). Senior researcher, head of the lab. № 9 FSBSI ARRIAM, Cand. Biol. Sci. Vladimir Aleksandrovich Zhukov took part in the work.

The experiment evaluated the effect of “Rhizotorfin” (produced by the company “ECOS-BIOPREPARATIONS”, St. Petersburg), containing a highly effective strain of nodule bacteria, on six varieties of vegetable peas. It was found that the use of "Rhizotorfin" leads to an increase in the values of biometric and physiological traits of vegetable pea plants, and also increases the yield by 10.4%. An important result of the use of “Rhizotorfin” is also the slowdown in the overripening of grain in the technical ripeness phase, which makes it possible to increase the period of optimal harvesting of vegetable peas. Inoculation with “Rhizotorfin” had the greatest positive effect on plants of the Parus variety of the leafless morphotype. Thus, it is recommended to use the “Rhizotorfin” biopreparation when growing this variety for commercial production.
