Scientific and Educational Center

The Scientific and Educational Center (REC) "Genetics and Cell Biology of plant-microbial Interactions" was established in 2009 to unite and coordinate the efforts of departments of the State Scientific Institution of the All-Russian Institute of Agricultural Microbiology of the Russian Academy of Agricultural Sciences to conduct scientific research and educational process in the field of genetics and cell biology of plant-microbial interactions. The basis for the creation of the REC is the fruitful activity of the scientific school "Molecular genetic foundations for the formation and functioning of mutually beneficial plant and microbial systems", which has been receiving state funding from the Council for Grants of the President of the Russian Federation for state support of young Russian scientists and for state support of leading scientific schools of the Russian Federation since 2003.

The head of the REC is academician Igor Anatolyevich Tikhonovich RASKHN.

In its actions, the REC is guided by the "Regulations on the Scientific and Educational Center for Genetics and Cell Biology of Plant-Microbial Interactions of the State Scientific Institution of the All-Russian Institute of Agricultural Microbiology of the Russian Academy of Agricultural Sciences."

In 2009, according to the results of the competition for lot No. 4 Cipher 2009-1.1-141-063 "Conducting scientific research by teams of scientific and educational centers in the field of general biology and genetics", the REC was recognized as the winner of the competition with the maximum number of points, beating many leading scientific organizations of the Russian Academy of Sciences and state universities.

State Contract No. 02.740.11.0276 will provide funding for research in the REC for 2009-2011.
