Laboratory of Ecology of Symbiotic and associative Rhizobacteria №4

Head of the laboratory : Yuri Vladimirovich Laktionov

Phone: +7 (812) 476 18 02

Collections of microorganisms have been created and maintained in the laboratory:

collection of nodule bacteria;
collection of associative rhizobacteria;
collection of endomycorrhizal fungi.

These microorganisms have been isolated from the rhizosphere of plants in various regions of the world and have a wide range of effects on plants. Microorganisms that have shown the best results when tested in vegetation and microfield experiments and have a set of economically useful characteristics are transferred to the Geographical Network of Experiments for testing.

On the basis of the studied bacteria and fungi, microbiological preparations for the inoculation of legumes (Trade mark Rhizotorphin) have been developed in order to fix atmospheric nitrogen, preparations with a stimulating effect for cereals, vegetables, industrial and forage crops based on associative rhizobacteria. Much attention is paid to the development and production of drugs with protective (biocontrol) properties that inhibit the development of phytopathogens. Various types of microorganisms and fungi from the laboratory's collection can act as producing microorganisms of such drugs.

The laboratory staff actively cooperates with scientific collectives of Russia and foreign countries, regularly participates in International congresses, symposiums, exhibitions. The laboratory fruitfully cooperates with biotechnological enterprises specializing in the production of biological products for crop production and animal husbandry, as well as with manufacturers of agricultural products.
