Employees of the Laboratory of Genetics and Microbial Breeding of FSBSI ARRIAM under the leadership of Rumyantseva M.L. published an article in the International Journal of Molecular Sciences on the study of site-specific integration of phage-like elements into the genomes of nodule bacteria. For the first time, they showed that site-specific integration of phage sequences occurs predominantly into single isoacceptor tRNA genes (“integration hot sites”) located on the host bacterial chromosome, with the participation of certain tyrosine integrases. The diversity of phage sequences encountered and the specificity of their integration are reflected in the figure. The study was carried out within the framework of the NCMU “Agrotechnologies of the Future”.
